Located on 81 acres of land, Cedar Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community serving the Jewish population of Cincinnati. Designed to meet the needs of a varied senior population, the project includes 51 assisted-living apartments, 38 personal care rooms, and 162 skilled-care nursing beds. Extensive activity and support spaces include two beauty/barber shops, kosher deli, gift shop, bank, library, fitness center, and cultural/religious center.
The skilled-nursing beds are arranged in two 27-bed wings on each of the building's three floors. Each wing contains three-9 bed clusters. Each cluster is complete with its own dining room, living room, and staff support facilities. The cluster concept decentralizes the caregivers and their support, creating small-scale neighborhoods throughout the complex.
Two 19-bed personal-care wings provide a distinct level of care for those not yet requiring skilled care. Based on a homemaker/home health model, the personal care wings optimize the atmosphere of wellness and keeps the residents involved. For more independent residents, 51 one- and two-bedroom apartments allow for independence and aging in place. Residents receive assistance with transportation, laundry, and personal care as needed.
