PHOTOTYPE
Phototype is a 90-year old, family-owned imaging and pre-press service company. This project involved the relocation and expansion of their corporate headquarters into in a historic manufacturing/ warehouse building. Two-dissimilar building types were joined together with the focal point being a new two-story sky-lit atrium/art gallery. The atrium provides a gathering space for customers and staff while also accommodating the display of graphic art produced by in-house designers. Six key departments, each identified by a unique color and icon are introduced in the reception area and then used in combination throughout the workspace. The renovation of the 28,000 square foot existing historic building houses new design and sales areas, customer service offices, an electronic imaging laboratory, an employee lunchroom, and a new fitness facility. The new addition in the adjoining 12,000 square foot building provides space for the company's administrative offices, executive conference room, general office and staff training room. |
